Our community organisation aims to educate, include and inspire local people. Our festival is a community event for the people of Didcot and its locality. Didcot has a vast wealth of heritage. Even those moving to the new developments across Didcot do not live on 'virgin territory'; people from the past inhabited the same space for thousands of years before them, evidenced by the Aureus Gold Roman hoard, kept in the Ashmolean nearby. This festival also aims at bringing together the older and newer parts of the town and will mark the first time that some artefacts have been returned (excluding the gold!) to the town and made accessible to local people. Although Didcot was recently revealed as the most 'normal' town in the country, our festival will go some way to making it an extraordinary place to live.
