Competitions

The Festival is on Saturday 7th July 2018 at Didcot Girls' School.

Opens at 10.00, starts at 10.30, ends at 5.00

The ancient Greeks were a bit obsessed with competitions, or as they called them, 'agons', or 'struggles', which is where we get our word 'agony' from.

In the spirit of the ancient Greeks, we will be hosting several competitions.

Colouring/ Decorating Competition submit by 29th June
Who? For all primary aged children 5 - 11 who attend a school in Didcot.
What? Free entry to our festival.

There will be 4 winners in each school year across all the schools in Didcot. (This excludes GEMs - this is because their school fete is on the same day as our festival).

In addition to free entry, they will get the opportunity to book slots on activities running throughout the day, for example, our mosaicist. We ask people to book so they are not disappointed. This does not mean there won't be spaces, only that spaces are guaranteed. Please see our timetable.

Please contact stretchdidcot@gmail.com for a sheet and details of where to send your finished picture.

Myth competition

What? based on Greek and Roman myths.

Who? Children and teenagers, ages 5 - 18 can produce any work

Our competition is sponsored by publishing companies and winners will receive Greek and Roman themed books, ranging from history books, mythology books and fiction books. We would really like to give them away!

Please contact us for an address to send entries to.

Entries to be in by Friday 15th June.

Students can get inspiration from myths such as these:
The myth of King Midas and his Golden Touch
The myth of Arachne
